Being honest with yourself
One of the main difficulties that a lot of us have with alcohol is that we struggle to maintain a strong degree of honesty regarding our drinking. If you think that you could probably improve your honesty levels here, then doing so is definitely in your best interests.
Being more honest with yourself around alcohol will make it easier to drink less, and will give you a chance to figure out exactly how bad the problem might be. That might mean having to face up to your drinking and there might be some shocks in doing so. However, in the long run it is much more beneficial to be honest with yourself rather than trying to cover things up.
Take an objective stance
Part of that process will necessarily involve trying to take an objective stance around your drinking. This can be tough to do, but it’s a good idea. Replacing the drug with something healthy
