How to get more Streams on Spotify?

Spotify is a music streaming giant used by 165 million people with a built-in monetization program for musicians, artists, and podcasters.

Millions of listeners flock to Spotify to stream their favorite content from expert and indie artists who can make quite a significant amount of money through Spotify’s advertising-supported and subscription-based payout system.

How can you get more Spotify streamers?

In the US, an average Spotify user has been recorded to listen to an average of 32 hours of music per week in 2017. This leaves a huge opportunity for streamers to share upload their content n a growing market and build passive income streams.

How much does Spotify pay per stream?

In an earlier article, I’ve mentioned that artists can expect to earn between $0.006 to $0.0084 per stream or around $0.00437 per play, according to some data from Information is Beautiful.

This would leave an artist who has 1000 streams with roughly around $4.37.

This might not seem like a lot, but it is still way better than what you’d make with Youtube, using Adsense as your sole revenue stream. (Youtube pays the least, at $0.00069 per view.)

How to grow your audience and make more money with Spotify?

If you’re confident that your songs are well written or your podcast is engaging, then you can start pitching your music to get featured on a Spotify playlist. The subscription is actually pretty simple:

Firstly, get a verified profile on Spotify. Find out more on Spotifyartist.

There are several tactics and software tools that you can use in order to reach out to more people and get them interested in you. The general idea to grow your audience and subscriber list is to start promoting yourself or your brand through your voice using several online platforms. You need to be heard by as many people as possible.

If you enjoy speaking or music in general and want to share your thoughts and ideas with your audience about your work, there are three platforms I would highly recommend.

Buzzsprout

Buzzsprout

Buzzsprout is a free podcasting platform and software that lets you upload, host, and promote your podcast. From secure and reliable hosting to full iTunes support, HTML5 players, show stats, and of course, Buzzsprout has everything you need to publish and promote your podcast!

They also offer a $20 Amazon Gift Card if you decide to sign up for their paid plans, which you can receive after the second paid invoice.

Podbean

Another platform I would recommend trying out is Podbean.

Podbean is another user-friendly podcast hosting service that allows you to upload your podcast episodes. This means that when someone wants to listen to your content, they’ll download or stream the data from Podbean’s servers.

Podbean helps you publish your podcast to other platforms like iTunes and Google Play. This will also provide features to help you get new listeners, monetize your podcast, and build a simple website.

Once you have a website with Bluehost and integrated Buzzsprout, you have a much better chance of boosting your audience and online traffic.

Once you have a website with Bluehost or Buzzsprout, you can finally engage in marketing your music.

Create a playlist or a podcast series!

Be active in a community to get feedback and manage your own personal playlists around your releases to your community. If you are on good terms with someone, you can share your music, increase your presence, and trade your tracks with other curators.

Bluehost

If you want to share your content or show the world who you are as an artist or content creator, you need a website where your audience can find you. One of the cheapest and easiest ways to start your own website is through Bluehost.

If you are a beginner at making websites, Bluehost is your best choice. They are quite affordable and you can build a website in 15 minutes with a free domain name included in the price.

Get in touch with Music Bloggers

If you want to boost your streamers on Spotify, you need to reach out to new audiences and convert them into fans. Music blogs are the best way to do that, and this is where your own website helps you out tremendously.

Your website is your brand, your reference where people can see a lot about you and your content. If your music is covered on a blog, (your own or someone else’s) it’s guaranteed to be seen by a lot of people.

Reach out to Music Labels

Before entering step 3, you need to have a strong brand image either on your website on Spotify or on social media.

It’s a showcase for your music and a very effective way to build your artistic identity.

Most Record Labels have playlists on Spotify, Youtube, Soundcloud, etc. Once you are confident and have a small audience, reach out to them with their submission links or by email. If you already have some serious content to share, they can be interested in signing your next tracks. You may never know who might take an interest in your style.

Once you have reached this stage, your brand is secured and your voice will be heard by a dozen people where your Spotify streamers will increase day-by-day. However, this requires a lot of work and patience.
