4 Freelance Jobs Where You Don’t Need To Sit at a Computer!

For many, the freelance way of life means that we’ve got to be constantly sitting at a computer. If you want to make a living as a freelancer, a pastime like blogging or being a virtual assistant is normally the most obvious method. But if this is not for you, there are plenty of opportunities that do not require a computer. Let’s show you some of them.

Driver

This is one of the best ways to earn a living without sitting at a computer. There are plenty of different types of driver opportunities out there. You could become a truck driver, where you take part in long-haul journeys or you can be a delivery driver. One of the best reasons to be a driver is that you don’t have to work with others and can be very freeing because you don’t have to answer to someone else like you would in an office environment.

Teacher, Tutor and Mentor

While you may need a computer for this job, you don’t have to sit down at it! The fact is that to be a great teacher, you’ve got to be very dynamic in your teaching approaches where you can tutor people in their home or your home. It’s a great way to truly challenge yourself without having to sit down at a computer all day. With so many different types of teaching opportunities available, you have to look at what matches your skillset. For example, if you are proficient in a musical instrument you can hire yourself out as a tutor, but for those that don’t necessarily have the skills in one area, it might be worth acquiring a teaching qualification so you have the opportunity to deliver a variety of teaching packages.

Pet or Child Sitter

These jobs will always be in demand and if you work well with children this is something that could prove to be lucrative. Additionally, if you have a passion for pets you can work as a pet sitter or a dog walker.

Cooking or Baking

One of the most creative roles forever in high demand. If you want to start a business in the very competitive food industry, there are numerous roles as a cook or a baker. Of course, this means that you may want to fine-tune your cooking skills but it’s always important to remember that there is a market for every type of food.

There are some great chocolate makers out there, and if this is more your passion, you can use this to your advantage. Conversely, you could make a living delivering ready-made meals to people who need them, such as pensioners.

Being a freelancer is not always easy, but if you want to do something that is as far removed from sitting down all day as possible, there are many options available to you. While you may need to acquire a qualification of sorts, think about this as an investment into a career that is more rejuvenating and inspiring than being sat down all day.
